Five Steps to a Successful Showcase

Step 2. Get the Word Out!

1. Get Your Students Excited!

  • Using the sample frame, show the students how wonderful their artwork looks framed!
    • Perfect for hanging in their home! ("Where they can see it every day and feel proud of their accomplishments.")
    • Perfect for dad or mom to hang at work! ("You know how dads and moms love to brag about their kids!")
  • Show the Order Forms that you will be sending home and explain the process. (Students tell their parents/guardians about their special art projects and show them the Order Forms.)
  • Tell your students what art supplies you will be purchasing for their classrooms with the funds that you earn from the frame sales.

2. Get the Word Out

  • In a staff meeting, let your fellow teachers and staff members know what you are doing, and why. Pass around the frame.
  • Use email and phone blasts to let parents and families know about your Showcase exhibit.
  • Display a sample frame in the office or other high-traffic area. Change student art out every few days.
  • Put a notice on your school web home page explaining the program and letting parents know what items you plan to purchase for the classroom (don’t forget to include the benefits of art education.)
