Our Mission
KidsArt Fairs partners with schools and families to build children's self-esteem and confidence through preserving creative expressions.
How We Began KidsArt Fairs was founded in Lake Mary, Florida, during the summer of 2007. Our goal was - and is - to elevate the importance of creative, artistic expression in children’s development.
We can measure our success by the growing number of communities that welcome KidsArt Fairs into their schools, but we also value what we cannot quantify … We have put proud smiles on the faces of parents … Nurtured confidence and creativity in countless of young artists … And strengthened relationships between schools and families across the country.
About the Founders A passion for reading, and years of dedicated effort to share that passion with children, originally drew an exceptional group of leaders together. Today, this team is inspired by a unique opportunity to encourage creativity, promote self-esteem, and strengthen the connection between parents and children.
The company is spearheaded by David Yun, who served as President of Scholastic Book Fairs for 13 years, reaching over 95% of the elementary schools in the United States and conducting more than 115,000 events a year. The creation of KidsArt Fairs is the natural extension of his belief that art, like literacy, bestows the invaluable gifts of lifelong learning and personal growth.
David Yun’s family moved to the United States from Korea in 1957 when he was only 10 years old. Young, impressionable, and unable to speak English, he found solace and self-expression through art. This childhood experience, combined with his success in helping more than 30 million students become readers and booklovers through his work with Scholastic, convinced him that KidsArt Fairs can inspire children’s creativity and help their personal development. When a child’s creation is framed and hung in their home, a wonderful connection is made between a child and the parent.
His founding team includes: Bob Luby leads the Field Sales Team; Lisa Howard manages Operations, Distributions, and Logistics; Chris Kirkham heads up Human Resources; Christene Repass is the Creative Marketing Professional; Leonard Romano is the Controller; and Blake Keller is the Information Technology expert.
This entire team shares the belief that ART makes a difference now and in the future. By encouraging original thinking and self expression, we are preparing the next generation to discover innovative solutions in business, government, science, social services, and technology.
Twenty former presidents of multi-million dollar companies have personally made contributions to support our Company’s Vision … We believe Art should be an integral part of students’ life learning and personal development.
